The Morehouse Center for Broadening Participation in Computing (CBPC) advances Morehouse College’s mission by expanding equitable access to—and success in—computing education, research, and careers. The Center coordinates student-focused pipeline and retention efforts that strengthen academic preparation, professional identity, and belonging for current and prospective computing students. Through mentoring, undergraduate research experiences, academic support, and career development activities, CBPC prepares students for graduate study and high-impact roles across industry, government, and entrepreneurship. The Center also builds partnerships with academic institutions, community organizations, and employers to create experiential learning opportunities and scalable pathways into computing. In addition, CBPC supports faculty and institutional capacity-building through grant-funded initiatives, program evaluation, and the dissemination of effective practices for broadening participation in computing.
The Center for Broadening Participation in Computing is located in the Dr. John Hopps Technology Tower, which is in the same building as Dr. Charles Merrill Hall on the campus of Morehouse College.
