The REACH consortium is a multi-institutional research project benchmarking large language models for cultural competency. You'll join a team of 4 students building the public-facing website that shares benchmark results, datasets, and evaluation tools with researchers, educators, and the public.
The platform is deployed on Google Cloud. You'll work with production cloud infrastructure (Cloud Run, Vertex AI, Cloud Storage), real research data, and real user
We're recruiting 4 students. Apply to the role that fits your background or what you want to learn.
Front-End Developer. Translate Figma designs into a functional, accessible, responsive site. Integrate UI with backend APIs and visualizations.
Back-End Developer. Develop server-side logic, APIs, and data workflows. Make architecture decisions across Cloud Run, App Engine, and Firebase.
UX/UI Designer. Lead Figma wireframes, prototypes, and the design system. Run user research and usability testing.
Marketing and Communications Lead. Build the dissemination strategy and content for researchers, educators, and the public. Conduct stakeholder research.
Each role includes an independent research question that shapes your design decisions and becomes the basis for your INSPIRE poster.
$3,500 summer stipend
Full travel coverage for INSPIRE: flights, two nights lodging, conference registration, baggage, and poster printing

Mentorship from Dr. Ashley Scruse, Deputy Director of the Morehouse Supercomputing Facility, and collaboration with the REACH consortium
