The Summer Bridge Experience (SBX) is a six-week virtual program designed to prepare African American students for success in computing majors and beyond. This experience is tailored for new transfers to computer science or software engineering majors.
The SBX Program offers hands-on training in Python programming, access to a supportive network of Black computing professionals, and academic credit. SBX introduces participants to computing research, doctoral study pathways, and key strategies to succeed in undergraduate computing programs.
This program is for Morehouse students who:
Transferring into Computer Science or Software Engineering
U.S. Citizens
Python programming instruction aligned with Morehouse College’s CSC 107 course
$3,000 stipend upon successful program completion
Engagement with PhDs and researchers in computing

Applications for C2C are open now. The deadline to apply is April 1, 2026. Students selected for the program will be notified by early April 15th, 2026.
To apply, students must complete the online application form and upload the required documents. The application should take about 20–30 minutes to complete. Only complete applications will be reviewed.
Applicants will need to upload the following:
High school transcript
College admission letter
Short personal statement (250–400 words). In your own words, tell us why you’re interested in computer science or a related computing field. You do not need to have prior coding experience. We’re looking for your honest reflections, curiosity, and willingness to grow. Consider addressing the following in your response:
What experiences sparked your interest in computing?
Why are you considering pursuing a degree in this field?
What are your academic or career goals after college?
How would participating in the SBX Program help you prepare for college and your future goals?
Resume or list of extracurricular activities (Optional, but recommended)
The program is fully virtual. Students will be asked to confirm they have access to a computer and reliable internet. If not, there will be space in the application to explain their situation so support can be considered.
Applicants will be asked to enter their contact and academic information, upload required documents, and answer a few short questions. Applications are due by April 1, 2026.
