Malaika Marable Serrano, Ph.D. is a scholar-practitioner whose work spans higher education, nonprofit, and corporate sectors, with a focus on inclusive leadership, global learning, and experiential education. She serves as Professor of Practice in Experiential Learning, where she contributes to the design of learning experiences that support student access, persistence, and post-graduate success.
Dr. Serrano most recently served as Vice President for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging at Guild, where she led enterprise-wide strategies to advance inclusive talent development and workforce mobility.
Her academic career includes faculty and administrative roles at the Georgia Institute of Technology, the University of Maryland, and the University of Tennessee, as well as international teaching in Venezuela and leadership of faculty-directed programs in the Dominican Republic and Colombia. Across her scholarship and practice, Dr. Serrano is committed to broadening participation in globally engaged and experiential learning - particularly at the intersection of technology, workforce readiness, and inclusive innovation.
In addition to her professional roles, Dr. Serrano serves on several international nonprofit and advisory boards and is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and Jack and Jill of America, Inc.. She holds degrees from the University of Southern California and the University of Maryland, and earned her Ph.D. from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan.
