Dr. John Porter III currently serves as the Associate Director of Student Programs & Financial Coordinator for the Morehouse College Center for Broadening Participation in Computing. Porter is an alumnus who graduated from Morehouse College in 2014 with a Bachelor's in Computer Science. He then immediately continued his education at Clemson University, where he received his Master's in Computer Science and his PhD in Human Centered Computing in 2021. Porter then returned to Morehouse shortly thereafter, serving as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist, where he oversaw the implementation of numerous student-led projects, NSF-funded programs, and technical summer camps, and provided financial oversight over all public and privately funded Center initiatives. He has also served on numerous conference committees in varying leadership roles throughout his career and has demonstrated, through his work, to be an instrumental part of both student success and team cohesiveness at the center.
